RESOURCES

The Alzheimer’s Association has a very extensive website with a lot of information. They also have a Helpline that you can call at any time. I first called it when I was very frustrated about trying to reason with Mom. A very understanding person answered the phone and explained a lot to me about how to handle difficult situations. The number is 1.800.272.3900.

Caring.com is a very helpful organization with a good website. You can search for in-home caregiver help or assisted living facilities according to your zip code. They also have a lot of general information concerning health, caregiver wellness and online support groups. I receive their regular online newsletters via email.

The Mayo Clinic website also has an e-newsletter that you can sign up to receive for good information about Alzheimer’s disease and caregiving tips.

This website has a lot of general health information, so click on the Alzheimer’s & Dementia link.
